Night 29

Here are Scientology's rules.
  • Never desert a comrade in need, in danger or in trouble.
also known in the military as never leave a man behind, how original L. Ron Hubbard
  • Never withdraw allegiance once granted.
so, don't go back on your word, yup, fairly universal.
  • Never desert a group to which you owe your support.
OWE, now that is a word that carries great weight. What kind of group do you owe support. What kind of group is one indebted to. I'll tell you what kind of group, Scientology. They have put a rule in place that you owe them your support. I don't like being told what to do and frankly they have not earned my support. Give and take bitch.
  • Never disparage yourself or minimize your strength of power.
Believe in yourself.
  • Never need praise, approval or sympathy.
No way. I almost choked on my water when I read this. In this world we would all kill ourselves if we did not receive any of these. There have been so many tests and statistics done that positive praise influences work of employees and has it not been one of life's struggle to gain approval of your parents, a boss, your loves ones? Yes we may not need these but we strive for them anyways, so to make a rule against it is denying the fact that it is a necessity in life.
  • Never compromise with your own reality.
You know what compromises with my own reality? Scientology.
  • Never permit your affinity to be alloyed.
Deciphered: Never let your natural likings be swayed by others so like what you like. Yes that would mean being an individual, Hubbard you pretentious ass.
  • Do not give or receive communication unless you yourself desire it.
Speak and listen when you want? What a fucking excellent world that would be if your boss came over to you and started giving you shit and you bust out, " I do not desire communication at this moment."
  • Your self-determinism and your honor are more important than your immediate life.
Yes, many men die in the name of something they believe in. This is very vague because if the gist of this is to hold honour above life then kamikazes and suicide bombers would be rocking with Xenu in the afterlife. Scientology clearly supports terrorism or in their eyes, honour.
  • Your integrity to yourself is more important than your body.
Blah blah, be true to yourself we get it.
  • Never regret yesterday. Life is in you today, and you can make your tomorrow.
How can they take this guideline and make it their own. Having "no regrets" as a belief is bullshit. That's like me saying part of my religion is not dwelling on the past.
  • Never fear to hurt another in a just cause.
So vengeance is fine if justified. Scientology has given me the green light to exact murder on those I feel are justly guilty. That is quite some power to employ to a person. But you see what they do, "just cause" is as vague as it gets so really it is bestowing no power to us but leaving us in a confused web of lies that will one day be sorted out before a jury because you are on death row for murder.
  • Don't desire to be liked or admired.
You can't want to be liked? Well cheap trick you were wrong, I don't want you to want me, I actually do not desire for your wanting nor do I desire to be wanted.
  • Be your own adviser, keep your own counsel and select your own decisions.
How does this even apply to most people. Last time I checked marriage and a family was about joint decisions an the bettering of those unions not individuals. How about political leaders, do they do what is best for them or for their country? bad example.
  • Be true to your own goals.
Just because you throw the word "true" in their doesn't mean anything different then when my first grade teacher told me to make my own goals.

My main issue with Scientology is the fact that is speaks to being who you are above all things but yet is tries to force itself into a religious category only to gain support and a following of masses that all live be the same rules? Doesn't sound very individualized to me.
I judge no one based on religion and these are merely my feelings regarding Scientology. I am no religious scholar and have no real idea what religion is "right" or the end all be all.
So in conclusion Scientology is a cover for what most people say help better their lives, but they have tried to take it as their own and govern it. Being true to yourself and being a good person is hardly a religion and shouldn't be treated as such, all though I guess any set of beliefs is a religion but seeing as being true to yourself may conflict with one or more of the rules above, it then makes Scientology the biggest Hypocrite of all religions.
